MM&E's Executive Team bring a diverse range of skills to the Company.
Tom Elliott (Managing Director)
Tom was a co-founder of MM&E Capital Limited in late 2001, and has successfully managed the day-to-day affairs of both the company and its various funds under management since investing began in July 2002.
Before founding MM&E in 2001, Tom was an Executive Director of investment bank, Flinders Capital Limited, which specialized in both listed and unlisted equity investments. Tom has also worked in stockbroking with McIntosh Securities Limited (now Merrill Lynch Australia), investment banking with Wood Gundy Inc. in Toronto and New York and retailing with Country Road Australia Limited.
As well as appearing on the ABC's Inside Business programme, Tom is a financial commentator on Melbourne radio stations 3AW and 3RRR.
Tom holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne and a Bachelor of Arts (Philosophy, Politics and Economics) from Oxford University (UK).
Michael Baker (Chief Investment Officer)
Michael oversees the equity dealing operations of MM&E Capital's funds. Michael is also partly responsible for idea generation and asset allocation within MM&E Capital Limited's core investment strategies.
Over the last 10 years Michael has worked as an equities analyst/dealer, with both buy and sell side experience in Australian and International equities. Prior to commencing with MM&E Capital in January 2007, Michael worked at Herschel Asset Management for 2 years, and before that he held positions at Merrill Lynch Australia, Macquarie Bank, Credit Suisse (as a SEATS operator and principal dealer) and Nomura Securities in London.
Michael has completed the SIA Post Graduate Diploma in Finance & Investment, and won a state prize for "Industrial Equity Analysis". He also has a Bachelor of Business degree (Banking and Finance/Accounting).
Mark Heaven (Chief Operations Officer)
Mark is a finance and operations professional with over 12 years experience in the funds management industry. He is a qualified chartered accountant and an Associate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and has a Bachelor of Arts (Accounting and Finance) from Manchester Metropolitan University, England.
During his career Mark has gained experience in senior finance and operations roles with organisations including KPMG, Colonial Investment Management Limited, Aviva Australia Limited and more recently with Herschel Asset Management Limited.
