Event Driven Strategy
MM&E currently manages two separate funds employing its Australian event-driven investment strategy.
The MM&E Capital Investment Trust No.1 (‘Trust 1’) is MM&E’s oldest fund (with an inception date of July 2002) and currently has A$16.6 million under management, as at 31 July 2010. Trust 1 employs no leverage and is currently closed to new investors.
The MM&E Capital Investment Trust No.2 (‘Trust 2’) began investing in July 2004 and has A$5.2 million under management, as at 31 July 2010. Trust 2 employs no leverage and is currently open to new professional and sophisticated investors. Trust 2 is managed in a near identical fashion to Trust 1 and has a minimum individual investment amount of A$25,000.
Takeover Target Strategy
In addition to the event driven absolute return funds listed above, MM&E also manages one fund which employs its takeover target strategy. The MM&E Capital Takeover Target Fund ('TTF') is a domestic long-only fund that uses six criteria to select companies which have a strong likelihood of being taken over within a 18 to 24 month timeframe. The TTF was seeded by MM&E's Principals in August 2005 and is now open for subscription by professional and sophisticated investors. Assets under management at 31 July 2010 amount to A$4.6 million.
Managed Accounts
Finally, in addition to its unit trust offering, MM&E manages discrete accounts ('Managed Accounts') in a near identical fashion to their trust counterparts.
